• May 11-20: Tajikistan delegation
On May 2, we held our third ONE WORLD - A Festival of Friendship event at DMACC’s Ankeny campus. There was food, wine, music, and a silent auction made up of wonderful items from around the Des Moines area. Photos of the event will be up soon!
One World - A FESTIVAL OF FRIENDSHIP 2013
March 22-30, Iowa Sister States hosted the Open World Accountable Governance delegation from Ukraine. The participants met with Iowa leaders and were home hosted by a great group of volunteers right in Des Moines.

The full West Des Moines-Shijiazhuang Combined Youth Orchestra played a concert Monday, February 11th at Valley High School in West Des Moines, IA to mark the Iowa-Hebei 30th anniversary.

This past September we celebrated global citizenship at our second annual One World Festival of Friendship.

On September 11, 2011, we honored the 10th anniversary of September 11th by promoting citizen diplomacy with the ultimate goal of One World, united by peace and friendship.

A new and different opportunity for some! ISS will host a group from Tajikistan from May 11th-20th. This group will be studying the theme of young professional leadership.
HOME HOSTS NEEDED!
In mid-April, Governor Branstad led a trade delegation to China in mid-April. Iowa Sister States’ own Kim Heidemann and others led a partner delegation to celebrate the Iowa-Hebei 30th Anniversary.
