The Eastern Iowa Committee (EIC) includes the cities of Burlington , Cedar Rapids , Iowa City and Muscatine . The EIC mailing list also includes ISS members in Davenport , Dubuque , Grinnell, Marion , Swisher and Waterloo .

Note: For the purposes of this committee, “eastern Iowa ” is considered as any part of Iowa east of the Des Moines area.

The EIC mission is:

*To support ISS goals and strategies by promoting Iowa Sister State activities (projects, exchanges and special events involving the eight existing, formally recognized sister states) throughout the eastern part of the state.

*To enhance the larger mission of ISS by developing and implementing international programs that 'promote cultural, economic and other interests of the State of Iowa and its citizens through volunteer, public and private action' but that are not necessarily directly relevant to a specific sister state relationship.
