The Veneto Region's borders are Lake Garda, the Mincio River and the Regions of Lombardy and Trentino-Alto Adige on the west; the Po River and the Regions of Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna on the south; the Po delta, Adriatic coast, Venetian lagoon, Livenza and Tagliamento Rivers, and the Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia on the east and the Dolomite Mountains and Austria to the north. The character of the prefecture is both urban and rural, with many towns and cities, extensive agricultural areas and dramatic mountain landscapes.
